Allan Savory joins me for this special 75th episode of the Working Cows podacst. We discuss common mistakes made by graziers, the future of regenerative agriculture, and the absolute necessity of a management plan. Allan also touches on the goal of planning, what is possible with a good holistic plan, as well as the benefits of a 500 year plan.

My pleasure, George. Thanks for your encouragement and support!
Really appreciate the interview with savory really helps our thinking and hopefully will changes us time goes on….. sure do hope it changes my grazing practices
Glad to hear it, Donnie. The best and worst part of ranching is that our success rides completely on our ability to implement what we know is right.
Hi:
at 38:00 Mr. Savory launches into a story about the need for holistic planning for ranchers. How can I learn to do this for my little 18-acre piece of desertifying land? How can I learn to write a grazing chart? I get the use of paddocks and frequent moves but before I bring livestock on, I want to get the ‘it’ behind it all. Suggestions?
I would start in of of the following two places.
https://holisticmanagement.org/training-programs/#management
https://www.savory.global/calendar/
Of course you can choose to take the online courses from either of those places but class time with other people in the trenches is invaluable. There are many other schools as well.

I guess I am not sure where you are located but there are places to get trained all over the globe. Hope that helps let me know if you have other questions. Thanks.
Great to be enthused once again Allan Savory. His explanations are simple. I live not far from one of his holistic farms here in New Zealand in Oxford, Lees Valley. It is great to see what is happening there and to know some of the people involved. One of my sons in a keen follower of his holistic managements. All we need is a huge shift in thinking by entrenched organisations.
