Good Monday morning to all you critter and land loving folks. This past week Conry cows came home, getting ready for babies to arrive in just a few short weeks. Almost sounds like spring, and on that note it decided to dump snow all week, making it a juggle to get those mommas home. They trucked home in the start of the storm and got in safe and happy before roads got too bad. By the end of the week, the kids had scored a snow day. Not every week does everyone get their way, but that was pretty darn close!
Growing up I remember waiting so excited for the first baby calves to make their appearance every spring. And the bragging rights if you spotted that calf first because then you got to name it! The kids’ snow day also reminded me of growing up how we loved it when the phone rang with that call of no school! We enjoyed our day at home and did it up right with chocolate chip cookies and some playing in that snow. It meant back to checking water was open and critters were being fed well. But I think I learned a little this week, that truly if you can’t beat it, soak it up and join it! I also learned I am a fair weather halter break type of girl and didn’t even bust out a halter to try to get on our milk cow. And just because I am feeling so random I also learned deep fat fried mac and cheese is delish…
Things weren’t all fun and games all week, life never is. I hope you can be encouraged that we don’t have it all together, we don’t live in a perfect house, have perfect chore days, or have perfect stock, but we find fulfillment in loving what we do. This week Valentine’s Day happens, I hope you as well can have pride in and love what you do. I hope you love those around you better this year than last, and if you are in need of a true love story-eat your hearts out. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (NKJV) Blessings to you, yours, and your operation.
