Good Monday morning to all you critter and land loving folks. This past week had its fair share of wind, when you live where we do this becomes a pretty common weather occurrence. So common in fact, I try to be a smarty pants every once in awhile and stop like something is wrong, and then proceed to make everyone take note of the fact that the wind is not blowing! Those days become very appreciated after days of fighting wind while doing chores. I do have to stop and try to turn this for a positive though, because we live in a world very willing and ready to dish out negative…no thanks. The wind was super helpful this past week in helping keep the back pasture water tank open!! We currently have all the sheep and our cavvy tucked in the back forty because that’s where the best forage currently stands. And every day the wind blew and it was chilly, there stood the tank, wide open, the float caused just enough movement on the water surface to keep that thing working like it was seventy degrees Fahrenheit, not seven. So yesterday, not much wind to speak of, a nice break, as we went to check water, there it stood, covered in ice. A pain, maybe… I challenge all of us in AG to have a different perspective this Monday…a least we have water in the back forty.
Blessings to you, yours, and your operation.
