Good Monday (it’s still Monday here) to all you critter and land loving folks. A very happy first day of Spring to you all! It was foggy and pretty chilly here most of the day, but it looks a little like spring in the bathtub today. That’s right, seven baby chicks are tucked in the spare bathroom with the heat lamp and cozy digs for the next little while. This is the first of several batches we will be getting this year. My goal is to run them in our first attempt at a chicken tractor this summer. We have an old horse trailer that we are going to run them in, so they can be locked up in bad weather, and at night. I am excited to see what this does for the pasture, and excited to see if it cuts down the number of grasshoppers, I have to fight off in my yard garden. I have visions of children and chickens free ranging this summer!
Blessings to you, yours, and our operation.
