Good Monday morning to all you critter and land loving folks. We have more moisture here than I think I have ever seen in July so far, and it has been amazing to look at! With more moisture than I have ever seen, I am pretty sure there are more mosquitoes than I have ever seen in my life! We have been managing around them, and cheering on the dragonflies when we spot them to gobble up the mosquitos. They are so thick they prompted a google search this last week to see if you can purchase more dragonflies. Turns out you certainly can, but they are expensive. . . like maybe we should have been owning a dragonfly ranch all along, just saying. I never thought I would google such a thing, but it prompts some summer learning for all of us! I just have some funny pictures that explain our week of custom grazing. We have yet to bust out the head nets for mosquitos, but they are on the kitchen counter. With more moisture we are having to put in more water crossing fences that we call “fake out” fences, they aren’t hot, but they keep cows where we want with all the water gaps. Clay kept trying to jump a crossing and finally just waded in, good thing I was so handy and close by. . . to take pictures.
Blessings to you, yours, and your operation.
