Good morning all you critter and land loving folks. Monday here on the ranch found us shuffling everything we own to wrap up our summer custom grazing, seems like ninety days goes by quickly. We did some pasture walking in the evening and enjoyed not being carried away by mosquitoes, I don’t know where they all went, but I didn’t miss them! We were very fortunate to catch just under two inches of rain about a week ago, and wow, that was super for the cover crop! I am just mostly sharing pictures today, they tell the story better. Some of our cover crop, and some of the pasture we are pretty sure we will be bale grazing across this winter. They are extremes on both ends, one doing well, and one we cant seem to get a grip on. I will share that the pasture that looks so rough has been rested for over a year, and this year we just blitzed across it, I think the big guns of bale grazing is what it will take to finally get the cover down on it we so desperately need. It all takes time, and drought and other factors play roles in how quickly things can change. We are going to keep after it, and I encourage you to do likewise, I don’t take ugly pictures for no good reason.
Blessings to you, yours, and your operation.
